Ate for Six
Submitted by: Russell Nichols
Artist's Project Description:
It was 4 a.m. on Blackout Tuesday (6/2/20) when I wrote Ate For Six. The rage I felt from a cop fatally kneeling on George Floyd's neck came out in the form of this protest poem.
For the virtual performance, Celeste Hinnant directed an incredible cast (Terra Hodge, Justin Peoples, Anthony Shepard, Ibadan Mack, J. Mardrice Henderson, Laquana Henny) and David Ekemini edited the video to bring this piece to life and honor the countless Black lives stolen by police brutality and state-sanctioned violence.
