We are seeking graduate, undergraduate and select high school educators who are interested in planning a mock-reparations trial assignment into their 2022-2023 academic year curriculum. We will provide:

  • All materials needed to hold a mock-trial of a fictional lawsuit between the descendants of former slaves against the descendants of former slave-holders (including background/historical documents, witness lists, court documents and exhibits, as well as jury and participant instructions);

  • Invitations for educators and participating students to attend panel discussions with reparations scholars/legal experts;

  • The opportunity for students to connect with other Reparations Project collaborators across the country;

  • A stipend of $250 for the first 50 educators who commit to and participate in The Reparations Project.

If you are interested in participating in this project, please drop us an email to let us know where you teach, what course you would incorporate this assignment into during your 2022-2023 academic year, and any questions you might have.  We will be in touch to set up a meeting with your institution.
