Transcending Isolation: Hope
Submitted by: Anthony Sky Ng-Thow-Hing
Artist's Project Description: This piece was commissioned by the Stanford Compression Forum and was co-directed by Stella Chen, Raken Estacio, Lindsey Han, Kohana Koki Kapoor, Anthony Sky Ng-Thow-Hing, Jonathan Sneh, and Shirley Wang. Our objective was to emphasize hope and global connection amidst isolated times. We collaborated with the AI-Generator GPT-2 to write the ending poem and used various means of digital communication to express the internet's capability to connect communities together in isolation. All anecdotes expressed in the piece were derived from interviews conducted with teens worldwide including but not limited to Qatar, Ecuador, and England.
