Artist's Project Description: "Pancit Is For Long Life' is part of a longer play-in-development, "Coconut Smoothie," that explores one day in May 2020 and a Zoom interaction with teachers, siblings, frenemies, queer dance parties & a birthday cake during quarantine. The piece was written to be performed via Zoom and was recorded on September 12, 2020 and stars Regina Aquino as Faith, Malcolm Aquino Smith as Kai, Regie Cabico as Regie with Direction and Dramaturgy by Valerie Baugh-Schlossburg, Videography Production by Sasha SInclair of Studio 3440 and produced by Capfire Spoken Word Arts Virtual Theater. Gratitude goes to Jack Novak & Brent Stansell of Shakespeare Theatre Company at the Harman Center for the Arts, Soo-Jin Lee and Gregory Keng Strasser for their guidance. This play is dedicated to those living with domestic violence and children with special needs trying to grow with wonder and joy during these unprecedented and cruel times.
