Artist's Project Description: This is Selfie Video in a performance persona with make-up exploring the white supremacy that kills our melanin people of power.
Artist's Bio: Ecuadorian-born Jose Torres-Tama is a published poet and playwright, an arts educator, cultural activist, and visual and performance artist. He explores the crrent rampant anti-immigrant hysteria gripping the United States of Amnesia. Among many grant awards, he's received a prestigious MAPFUND for his Taco Truck Theater ensemble project on wheels that challenges the criminalization of immigrants and the parallel historical struggles of African Americans with continuous killings of unarmed Black civilians by white police.
